Meet the Maker
Some people are born to make things. I am one of those people.
I am Holly — designer, maker, mother, and the creative force behind Holly K Studio. I have degrees in both business and fine arts, and I have spent the better part of my career as a self-taught graphic artist turning ideas into something tangible and real. I started my first business — a custom stationery studio — back in 2009, which eventually evolved into Holly K Design, my full-service creative branding and design company. Apparently I have never been able to stop at just one thing.
I work from my home near the beautiful shores of Lake Erie, where my mind is constantly buzzing with the next idea, the next project, the next thing I can make with my hands. I have always been the person who hand-letters the birthday card, repurposes the thrift store find, and reaches for the power tools when everyone else reaches for the phone. My favorite creations — outside of my kids, obviously — are the handmade gifts I make for the people I love. There is nothing quite like handing someone something you made yourself and watching their face when they realize it was made just for them.
The Studio
Holly K Studio has honestly been years in the making — my husband will tell you he has been suggesting it for longer than I care to admit. But with both kids finally in school full time and a laser engraver that had been quietly calling my name, the timing felt less like a decision and more like an inevitability.
What started as a natural extension of Holly K Design — a way to bring branding and custom design work into the physical world — quickly became something I am genuinely obsessed with. Holly K Studio is where my love of design, my need to make things with my hands, and my belief that the best gifts are the ones made with real intention all come together in one place.
Every piece that leaves this studio is designed by me, engraved by me, and packaged with the same care I would put into a gift for someone I love — because that is exactly what most of them are. From custom engraved gift kits and branded business goods to personalized keepsakes and statement signage, everything here is created with purpose, built with craftsmanship, and finished with a little bit of soul.
This is not a print-and-ship operation. This is a one-woman studio where every detail matters — because I genuinely cannot help it.

Because wood, slate, and other natural materials vary in texture and grain, each piece will be uniquely its own. Small variations are part of the handcrafted process and add to the character of the final product.

Yes! Many items include gift-ready packaging, and upgraded gift options may be available depending on the collection.

Every product is designed, engraved, assembled, and packaged with care in our studio. Attention to detail is at the heart of everything we create.

We recommend using the engraved side for serving and the back side for cutting. To ensure your engraved design and board last for years, follow the care instructions below:
- Hand wash only. Never put engraved boards in the dishwasher.
- Wipe dry immediately. Prolonged moisture can raise the grain and dull engravings.
- Avoid soaking. Water can cause warping and fading of the engraved area.
- Oil regularly. This keeps the board from drying out and preserves the contrast of your design.

Because each piece is made to order, production times may vary depending on the project. Current turnaround times will always be listed in product descriptions or discussed during the ordering process.

Absolutely. The majority of our products offer customization options including names, logos, dates, phrases, and special details depending on the item.

Yes — logo engraving is available on the majority of our products. Vector or high-resolution files are required for best results.
